announced
Evolver reviewed in Electronic

Podcast
Previously

album Evolver debuts today at #3 at

Key); and also features the Cashbox Magazine
Canada / zipDJ Top 10 Dance single
'Projected Tones'.

SONY FEED / EVOLVER: Evolution: a process of
formation and growth; a pattern formed by a series
of movements. In music, it describes the process of
creative reinvention, which is why we've titled
this library Evolver: Distinctive
Electronica. From nomadic techno excursions
and house music bangers to glitch guitar serenades
and crunk ruminations, Evolver opens wormholes to
electronica's storied past and gives fresh clues to
lead you into its possible futures. Souled-out
six-strings wail, 808s bounce, synthesizers attack
from all angles, and bass bubbles up from the
underworld in these ten explosive construction
kits.. Eclectic eccentrics 3kStatic are joined here
by a host of guest musicians, including Kevin Max
(DC Talk), David Manion (Kansas), and Robert Bond
(Liberty Horses). As an added bonus, Evolver
features a companion audio CD with song versions of
each royalty-free construction
kit.

the band's recognition of the influence of Dadaist
art on earlier electronic music.
Not Art opens with four new tracks that
evoke an early 90s-period retro/house approach,
interspersed with spoken word samples.
The net result is not typical dance music, but
rather a soundtrack to the band's underlying vibe -
and a departure of sorts from their recent and more
accessible output.
One notable exception is 'Identity Thieves', which
employs crunchingly atmospheric guitars from Nerd
Parade's Randy Garcia in an otherwise otherworldly
stew of tribal downtempo elements and shimmering
jazz house keys.
The album is available in DRM-free hi-fidelity
320kbps mp3 format and is priced at $8.99.

06.22.09: ON THE CONSTRUCTION OF SITUATIONS -
EVEN THOSE READY
MADE
It's
perhaps somewhat mystifying to be faced head-on
with the fact that some might take the creative
ideals that fuel their pursuits - and actually put
them into practice. Perhaps in a world of producing
noise for money or attention, this is somewhat
unusual.
Maybe the notion of 'anti-art' as a means of
calling attention to the inherent farce of it all -
but at the same time deploying the results as a
statement for what a group may (or may not) feel to
be the Truth - is in itself nonsensical.
This collective happens to take the principle that
rebelling against art is one method of also
rebelling against the status quo quite
seriously. The ideals of Dadaism and Situationism
are effective in this regard, just as they were in
1917 or 1957.
3kStatic exists to both deconstruct art and
construct new situations - without
separation from daily life, business, politics or
creative pursuits.
A
moment of life concretely and
deliberately
constructed
by the collective organization
of
a unitary ambiance
and a game
of events."
Should
it prove too difficult to see this is what this
collective actually does, then:

3KSTATIC DECLARES HOLIDAY: 86TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE
DADA RIOT
Two-time GRAMMY@ candidate electronica
collective 3kStatic have announced the declaration
of 07.06.09 as a global holiday to commemorate the
86th Anniversary of the 1923 Dada Riot, the
impending 2 millionth hit to the band's official
site at 3kStatic.com
and the 07.21.09 release of the digital single
'Sugar Evolver (featuring Kevin Max)'.
The new single will include alternate versions,
remixes and the original Logickal version
'Sugarknife'.
Beginning today and thru 07.06.09, 3kStatic will
transmit Dada-encoded messages exclusively via
Twitter.
The band's followers are being coerced to do the
same....rebelling against art and keeping the
spirit of the Dadaist movement alive in the 21st
Century by sending random, Dadaist tweets.
3kStatic.com will select the best of these messages
quite by chance....and the selected message will
enitle the "tweeter" to a free copy of the new
3kStatic album & sound library
Evolver,
recently released by Sony Creative
Software.
Evolver
is the first original album to be released by Sony
to include a complete sound library, and is
currently on sale @ Sony for $39.95.

Dada
About
the Riot:
Seen by some as the moment that the Dada movement
fractured and gave rise to Surrealism, the volatile
evening of 07.06.23 was highlighted by a
performance of The Gas Heart by
Tristan Tzara....elements of which will be
included on 3kStatic.com and especially via Twitter
during the next month.
Owing to a dispute between the Dada factions
gathered for the event, and the reaction of the
theatre patrons present, The Gas
Heart provoked a disturbance that would
become a riot before police could intervene, and
later spilled into he streets around the
Théâtre Michel.
Fueled by a detachment from pop culture, an
anti-capitalist and anti-art worldview, Dadaist
artists and poets viewed their work as weapons
against the status quo, pioneering concepts such as
'ready made art' and 'cut-up montages'.
Carried on by modern artists such as Wiliam
Burroughs, the application of Dada in media - and
specifically audio and video production - was key
to the early cyberpunk and industrial electronic
artists of the 1970s and 80s, and a major influence
on fellow travellers who came later, such as
3kStatic.

choice) holiday.
